Florida State College Jacksonville (FSCJ) Flightstar Aircraft Education Facility

Project Details:

The project emerged as a collaborative venture between the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) and Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ), forging a partnership with FlightStar Aircraft Services (FAS), a leading Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operator and the ninth-largest educational institution in the nation.

The facility spans 120,000 SF and encompasses three (3) bay hangars with adjoining classroom space. It is jointly owned and operated by FSCJ and JAA. FlightStar Aircraft Services, which specializes in heavy aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul, leases approximately 106,000 SF of the facility.

Site/Infrastructure Improvements: Situated at the north end of an existing flight line within the Cecil Commerce Center in Jacksonville, Florida, the site required extensive development. Due to the absence of prior structures, meticulous grading was necessary to establish the concrete foundation—comprehensive site enhancements encompassed parking, drainage, utilities, and landscaping.
