Amports Automotive Processing Facility

Project Details:

This project entailed constructing an auto processing facility featuring a one-story, 14,950 SF pre-engineered metal building on an existing concrete and asphalt pavement site. The facility comprises a processing area with a foil room with multiple lifts, three (3) offices, a conference room, a break room, restrooms, and necessary mechanical, electrical, and IT spaces. The building predominantly rests on an existing concrete slab, with poured-inplace concrete utilized for perimeter foundations and an elevated office area slab. Interior partitions consist of conventional gypsum board on metal stud framing with fiberglass batt insulation. Various interior finishes such as porcelain tile, vinyl composition tile, epoxy f looring, sealed concrete, paint, and suspended acoustical panels are incorporated. The facility utilizes overhead coiling doors, hollow metal doors and frames, and storefront systems.

Heating and cooling for the offices and foil room are provided by air-cooled split system heat pumps with auxiliary electric heaters, while ventilation for the processing area is facilitated by axial wall-prop fans, with heating supplied by suspended infrared propane heaters. Lighting within the office areas primarily comprises 2’x4’ and 2’x2’ LED fixtures, chain-mounted strip lighting in the mechanical/electrical room, pendant lighting in the conference room, and a combination of wall-mounted and downlight fixtures in the restrooms. Chain-mounted LED strip fixtures illuminate the foil room and processing room, while exterior lighting includes mounted fixtures. The building is powered by a 3-phase 240/120V service provided by Jacksonville Electric Authority, with electrical equipment powered from a 3-phase 240/120V panel and two single-phase 120/240V panels.
